Guam - The Guam Swimming Federation will be hosting a pentathlon event on May 4th at the Hagatna Swimming Pool. The federation is Guam's national organization for competition swimming. Swimmers from other islands in the Micronesia will be competing in the event along with the invitation to other countries such as Australia, Japan, Philippines and Hong Kong.

Participants in age groups from 12-years old to adults will compete in five individual events to determine the best all-around swimmer in the region. The unique swim meet features the 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and the 200m individual medley.

A swimmer must swim in all 5 events in order to qualify to be the Pentathlon champion. The event will also include an exhibition of Guam's Olympic swimmer Chris Duenas. We will keep you posted as the event nears.
