Joe Mesa retains GEC chairmanship
While traditionally the parties switch off on who will chair the Guam Election Commission, the GEC unanimously voted for current chairman Joe Mesa to retain the chairmanship position.
Guam - While traditionally the parties switch off on who will chair the Guam Election Commission, the GEC unanimously voted for current chairman Joe Mesa to retain the chairmanship position. Vice chairman Don Weakley nominated mesa and noted under Mesa's leadership experienced one of the best elections in a while.
Weakley said, "I think Joe Mesa has done and doing an outstanding job and I think the commission would benefit from having him as chairman for another year. Really, I believe we're on a roll right now to be honest with you, we're doing well." Weakley was also voted to retain the vice chairman position.
Weakley noted the Democratic Party would like to hold the chairmanship next year during the 2014 general election.
