Guam - Jae Chul Shin was found guilty in the District Court of Guam of importing methamphetamine hydrochloride. After a two-week trial, a jury found him guilty of using a courier to import more than 400 grams of crystal meth into Guam.
Last June, Shin and Sung Kwon were arrested after authorities found a quarter-million dollars worth of the drug Ice hidden in the false bottom of a golf bag. Kwon signed a plea agreement and admitted that Shin and another man had him bring drugs into Guam on more than one occasion. Shin remains behind bars awaiting sentencing set for July 8. He faces a mandatory minimum of ten years behind bars without the possibility of parole and a maximum fine of $4,000,000.
