Guam - Earlier this month Senator Tom Ada raised concern over the accurate and up to date assessment of the Port Modernization Fund. And just as she told KUAM News two weeks ago, Port Authority of Guam general manager Joanne Brown tells the senator to rest assured that there is no one more concerned about its status than the agency.

In a letter, she says the current balance as of March 18 is over $42 million. She adds relative to questions over administrative and pre-construction expenditures that have been funded from the Port Enterprise Fund, she identifies $1.5 million in expenditures from MARAD for administrative costs and over $5.7 million in expenditures from EA Engineering for task order expenses coordinated through its technical development team.
