Calvo offers assurance to residents after N.Korean threats
Guam - While he wraps up his trade mission in Vietnam, Governor Eddie Calvo offered his statements over the recent threats by North Korea. Governor Calvo offers his assurance that Guam is protected by the strongest and most advanced military in the world, saying we can't get into upheaval every time North Korea makes a threat, adding it happens often and its military capabilities are decades behind our nations.
Calvo goes on to state that should North Korea's threats ever materialize, U.S. Pacific Command would alert Guam and defense systems would be engaged immediately.
In the remote chance of a successful attack on Guam, Calvo adds Guam Homeland Security has practiced exercises involving radioactive fallout and mass casualties referring to TOPOFF that was conducted back in 2007.
