Guam - The University of Guam is looking to garner full entitlement to land adjacent to the Mangilao property. During a meeting today with Senator Aline Yamashita, UOG president Dr. Robert Underwood discussed ongoing legislation to expand Mangilao as the educational capital of Micronesia.
"There's a swath of land that wraps around the university now and this swath of land was originally part of the university's property but due to lack of action it went back into GovGuam property roles in the 90s, and we want to reacquire it which will be used as a conservation area, which will be used for the university's students as well as the general public," he said.
In addition he's hoping to garner full rights to property behind the UOG Marine Lab. Underwood is working with Speaker Judi Won Pat to draft the legislation.
