Guam - The island's public high schools will see an additional law enforcement official on campus starting Monday. Department of Education Student Support Services Division administrator Chris Anderson says the School Resource Program is expanding and each high school will have two SROs, with the exception of Okkodo to help deter crime on campus as well as educate students.

The SRO program is a partnership between the Judiciary and DOE and funded through consolidated grants.

Despite heated debate when the program was first introduced a year ago, Anderson adds SROs will continue to be unarmed while on school grounds, but hopes the community will continue to discuss the possibility of armed SROs.
