Local and federal firefighters have been dispatched to a blaze reported at a Dededo recycling company. Guam Fire Department Acting Spokesperson FFII Kevin Reilly says a fire was reported at Global Recycling on Batulo Road in Dededo just before 2:30 Monday morning.
Reilly says firefighters from three different fire stations are at the scene and Andersen Fire Department's tanker is also assisting with the effort. There is no word at this time what caused the blaze, but contained the blaze within two hours, and officials continue to work on extinguishing the fire.
It is expected that the Guam Environmental Protection Agency will be notified and respond to the scene as the agency regulates these types of companies on Guam.
