Guam - All of the island's public library branches will soon have broadband Internet services. The Guam Broadband Mapping Team together with Senator Aline Yamashita and Speaker Judi Won Pat joined the Guam Public Library System this morning in Hagatna to accept IT&E's donation of Internet services.

IT&E public relations manager for special projects Carlos Camacho said, "Basically the driving force behind all of that is it behooves us to try to stimulate broadband adoption within the communities, and there really isn't nothing more to explain. We all know that those kinds of tools will really better the lives of everyone and really just improve the quality of life on Guam."

Internet services are set to begin at the public libraries in Malesso, Agat, Yona, Dededo and Barrigada in March through September. This is inline with efforts to increase broadband access throughout the nation to ensure that no one is left behind in the 21st Century.
