Guam - The Democratic Party of Guam's Central Executive Committee is scheduled to meet this evening to discuss whether to hold a special election or wait until its regularly scheduled party election in August. Speaker Judi Won Pat has been tasked to chair the party's nominating committee.

She told KUAM News, "So we will need to find somebody who be so to speak have not taken sides and is somebody with a moderate temperate and characteristics and knowledgeable and supportive of the party, but the most important thing is to bring the party together and it can't be an individual who's going to show favoritism over one or the other."

Former party chair Carl Gutierrez resigned last year after decided to run for public auditor, vice chair Gloria Nelson took over the top position until her passing last October.  And just this past week Carlo Branch resigned as the party's executive director.
