Guam - An update now on those tsunami warning system sirens we've been telling you about for the last six years now. According to Guam Homeland Security Project Manager Pilar Carbullido installing them isn't as easy as it sounds. As we've reported 15 tsunami sirens were procured in 2007 and have been sitting in a warehouse. Initially the installation was delayed due to a procurement protest, which has since been resolved. Carbullido says although 15 potential sites have been located for the sirens to be erected they must ensure the sites are not historic areas.  A contract to request for archeological services is still under review and pending finalization from GHS.  Carbullido adds that simultaneously an invitation for bid is in the works with public works to acquire a vendor to build and erect the poles to meet federal specifications. Carbullido says it may be a couple of weeks before the logistics of the IFB is completed.
