Guam - Just last week Governor Eddie Calvo was in Washington, DC trying to find our more information on sequestration. And while it's still unclear of the specifics of the impact to Guam with many of the information coming from second hand resources, Governor Calvo says his administration wants to focus on stability in our local environment as sequestration occurs.

He's says as the feds work on cutting back and get their act together, he hopeful of the possibility in allowing our territory the flexibility to work on federal mandates imposed on our government so we don't broke in fulfilling them such as the visa waiver requirements for Chinese visitors. Calvo says some promising news may come following meetings with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and her top aide.

He told KUAM News, "We feel very confident that from what we heard from this senior aide of Ms. Napolitano that there will be a conclusion, and he is recommending to the secretary that that resolution will happen either late March or April of this year. So it's going to happen. Now, let's see what the resolution will be one way or the other, we're going to get an answer."
