Guam - In honor of Women's History Month, the island's female artists put their best works up for display at the 8th Annual Women's Art Show. Artist Ernestina Cruz says this is her second year participating in the all-female feature.

"I think women like beautiful things so you will see beautiful things displayed here in all kinds of medium," she said.

For longtime carver and jeweler Jill Benavente, the event allows women to display works they've created from their hearts.  "I believe everybody has their special skill, it's just a matter of finding it but if you don't play (my dad calls it play) and try these materials then you'll never know what you can come up with. I always say play and always experiment with anything you do in life and always do the best you can."

The art show opens tonight and runs through March 8 at the Infinity Art Gallery at the Nissan Showroom in Upper Tumon.
