Guam - Having your baggage screened in front of you may soon be a thing of the past. The Guam International Airport Authority's board of directors approved additional funding to move the screening process to a back area of the airport to free up space for passenger lines and ticket counters. The Transportation Security Administration received funding for a new screening system and the airport agreed to provide additional funding to move the system to the back.
The board meanwhile also gave the green light for a contractor to proceed with phase two of the residential sound installation project. Approximately 50 homes in Barrigada Heights and Maite have been identified for the project.
The board was expected to receive a presentation on the specialty retail concessionaire request for proposal, but the evaluation team is still seeking clarification on some matters from the bidders.
