Guam - The Governor's Office announced that $6 million has been secured for the Guam Memorial Hospital from annual Compact impact funding. GMH will use part of the money to pay its vendors for supplies, medicine and emergency operations.

Governor Eddie Calvo, who is in Washington, DC, says the money will help to pay the bills, but it still doesn't entirely address what's needed to offset the hospital's costs of treating immigrants under the Compacts. The funds have been awarded and transferred to GovGuam by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
