Guam - The island's school children are reaching out to the victims of last week's tragedy in Tumon. In less than a week's time the students of LBJ Elementary School and Tamuning Elementary School fundraised over $600 from their hearts for healing campaign.

Tamuning Elementary 4th grade teacher Kathleen Aguon says students from pre-school to 5th grade purchased and decorated cards with get well messages addressed to the victims and their for $1. She said, "We know that our kids understand what's going on and one of the expected learning results we have here is service minded individuals; we thought that we could tie it into our curriculum and what we're teaching at the classroom."

The schools presented the cards and check to the Guam Visitors Bureau today for their 2/12 Memorial Fund.
