Guam - More than a decade in the making and the case continues for Joseph Taitano, the operator of a massive illegal dump in Yigo. At today's motions hearing, Superior Court Judge Arthur Barcinas denied Taitano's motion to dismiss because he wasn't prosecuted and served in a timely manner.

Guam EPA spokesperson Tammy Jo Anderson Taft said, "Guam EPA legal counsel filed the correct documents and showed the court that that was not the case, and both those motions to dismiss were denied because Guam EPA has been actively prosecuting this case and Mr. Taitano was served in a timely manner."

Judge Barcinas granted Taitano 30 days to find legal counsel. The Guam EPA has submitted a civil lawsuit for operating an illegal dumpsite on his property in Yigo.
