45 homes evacuated in Dededo due to ordnance

Guam - 45 homes in the Swamp Road area were evacuated this afternoon after ordnance was found. First responders rushed to the location to secure the site.  Guam Homeland Security's Pillar Carbullido said, "EOD is on site they did determine it is a five-inch projectile they want to go ahead and do a safe render procedure so they want to go ahead and diffuse here on site."

And Dededo mayor Melissa Savares added, "We are evacuating 600 feet from where the ordinance is at that would be from Ysengsong into Swamp Road, La Familia to Chalan Innatibu, Chalan Natibu and everything within that box."  

The Astumbo Gym was used a safe zone for residents to wait for the completion of the safe render procedure. The all-clear was given just after 3:30 this afternoon.
