Police investigate dead body found in Yigo

Guam - A hiker found what appears to be human remains while in the jungles of Yigo Thursday evening.  Guam Police Department Spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia says Dededo Precinct officers responded to the area off Chalan F.E. Quitugua Street in Yigo.

Criminal Investigations detectives were activated to the location. Balajadia says due to the composition of the remains, police have had difficulty distinguishing the gender of the remains.  Based on the condition in which they were found police say it appears the remains have been there for quite some time.

Balajadia says detectives will be looking through the case log of missing persons. In the meantime the public is urged to notify police if they have a family member who has been missing for awhile in the Yigo
