Former police officer Morrison killed in motorcycle crash
Guam - The Guam Police Department is investigating the island's latest traffic-related fatality. GPD spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia says a man operating a 2004 Suzuki 1000 lost control and ran off the roadway in Agat. "Just before noon the officers responded to a reported motorcycle spill on the Agat-Umatac Road located in front of the Agat Transfer Station," he said. "Guam Highway Patrol has been activated."
"Apparently he lost control running off the roadway striking a sewer pipe," said Balajadia.
The motorcyclist, who police have since identified as 39-year old Troy Morrison, was transported to Naval Hospital in Agana Heights and was pronounced dead at 11:30 this morning.
Morrison is a former police officer. Last year he pleaded guilty to several family violence and terrorizing cases and was sentenced to more than 200 days behind bars.
He was released from jail in December of last year.
Morrison's death is currently under investigation to determine if speed and or alcohol were factors in the crash.
