Guam - The amendment to the Guam Medicaid Program State Plan still hasn't been approved. According to Department of Public Health Bureau of Healthcare and Financing administrator Tess Arcangel, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services requested for more information regarding credentialing of professionals back in December.

As a result, their 90-day deadline to approve Guam's amendment is pushed back an additional 90 days. Arcangel says the new deadline is April 9.

The new amendment would make Guam the first to expand services outside the United States and to the Philippines, which would save thousands in airfare fees affecting the 40,000 Guam residents eligible for Medicaid services.
