Congressional delegation visiting Guam this week

Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's office confirms that a congressional delegation is expected to arrive on island tonight.

Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's office confirms that a congressional delegation is expected to arrive on island tonight. The codel will consist of five representatives from the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. Assistant press secretary Breanna Lai says the purpose is to assess the programs and activities of veterans affairs and DOD medical facilities to include operations at the clinics and Veterans Cemetery.

She adds the codel stopped in San Diego and Hawaii before coming to Guam and then will proceed to visit the Philippines and Japan. She says the list of activities will most likely include meeting with the Governor's Office and the Guam Legislature, along with a wreath laying ceremony at Veterans Cemetery in Piti.

The codel consists of Florida congressman Jeff Miler, Maine congressman Michael Michaud, Alabama congressman Jo Bonner, Florida's Gus Bilirakis and Minnesota congressman Timothy Walz.
