Guam - Back in July Department of Education superintendent Jon Fernandez hit the ground running as the head of the Government of Guam's largest agency with visits to the island's 40 public schools. He's making trips to all the schools again, this time with a focus on improving student achievement, including reviewing last school year's SAT-10 scores.

"It's really broader than SAT-10 - we're really focused on trying to figure out how we're constantly improving what we're teaching our kids," he said.

Fernandez started his trip to the schools in November but took a break in January to develop the Fiscal Year 2014 budget. He started up again this week and will visit a school every day until he completes his school tours.
