Guam - Senator Brant McCreadie is looking to the Department of Education for more information regarding coach stipends. In a letter addressed to superintendent of public education Jon Fernandez, the freshman policymaker says he's been approached by school coaches who are left waiting on their stipends from 3rd and 4th quarter sports.

"Part of my platform was in regards to physical education and hopefully I believe that now the curriculum is twice a week for physical education, hopefully I can work with the superintendent," McCreadie told KUAM News. "And we do have a meeting coming up soon that we can implement a little more physical education in the public school systems."

George Washington High School athletic director Marty Boudreau confirms some coaches are not receiving paychecks, and like McCreadie, would like more information.

Meanwhile, Fernandez says there have been delays with processing paperwork for non-DOE employee coaches. For the present quarter, coaches are not allowed to coach until their paperwork is processed to ensure payment.
