Guam - A third person who was injured during Tuesday's tragedy in Tumon passed away this morning at the Guam Memorial Hospital. During a press conference at GMH this afternoon, officials announced that 51-year-old Hitoshi Yokota died from injuries he sustained when he was struck by a car driven by Chad Desoto.

Police have said Desoto drove onto the sidewalk by Sandcastle on Tuesday night hitting six people before he crashed into the ABC Store, got out, and stabbed eight people.

81-year-old Haruko Uehara and 29-year-old Rie Sugiyama died from the stabbings. A 22-year-old woman who sustained major head injuries from being struck by the car was medically transported to Japan this morning. A 76-year-old woman who was also an auto-pedestrian victim remains in guarded condition in the Intensive Care Unit at GHM.

An 8-month-old girl and a 3-year-old toddler, who sustained stab wounds to their faces, are in stable condition and are expected to be released from the hospital on Friday.
