Guam - Attorneys who filed the class action tax refund lawsuit are seeking more than $2 million for their work. The case was filed less than two years ago and the plaintiffs were successful in obtaining summary judgment and a permanent injunction to force the government to pay tax refunds on a first-in, first-out basis and within six months from the time a claim is filed.

California based law firm Girard Gibbs is seeking the payment of $1.4 million for more than 3,300 hours they spent on the litigation while the Lujan, Aguigui & Perez firm is seeking more than $735,000 for the 2,500 hours they worked on the case.

Both law firms claim they reduced the total number of hours billed by 10% and maintain the rates are reasonable, as they have not been paid a single penny for the services rendered.
