Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo extended her condolences today to the people of Japan following Tuesday's stabbing tragedy in Tumon, speaking with the deputy chief of mission Koji Tomita from the Embassy of Japan. Like many, she was deeply saddened and shocked by the events, adding, "On Guam, we welcome our visitors in the same way we welcome on our families.
"This was a senseless tragedy and it is sad to see this type of violence on Guam. Guam continues to be an exceptionally safe travel destination and we will continue to provide our visitors with the same hospitality and respect we were raised with."
She also applauds those who mustered the courage to subdue the assailant until police could arrive on the scene.
