Tsunami Watch Issued for Guam
An 8.0 earthquake in the Santa Cruz Island triggered tsunami watches and warnings to be issued for parts of the Pacific.
Guam - The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a Tsunami Watch for Guam. According to Guam Homeland Security Office of Civil Defense Spokesperson Dee Cruz the estimated time of arrival for the first wave is 4:22 this afternoon. A briefing is currently underway at Civil Defense. An 8.0 earthquake in the Santa Cruz Island triggered tsunami watches and warnings to be issued for parts of the Pacific.

Civil Defense stated, "It is not known at this time whether a tsunami will hit Guam. If a tsunami were to hit Guam, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center estimates it would arrive at 4:22 p.m. today, Wednesday, February 6, 2013. All Residents are advised to avoid all beaches and low-lying areas. Residents are urged to continue to monitor local media for more information."
