Guam - As the Department of Revenue and Taxation begins the process of reassessing the value of properties on Guam, Senator Michael San Nicolas has introduced a bill that would require licensed real estate appraisers to submit valuations to DRT. San Nicolas in doing so this would reduce the amount the agency would have to pay for some of the assessments realizing a savings of 1.2 million dollars and would accelerate the collection of 13.7 million dollars in property taxes. DRT has not conducted a property valuation in almost twenty years.
