His passing comes just days before a ground breaking ceremony is to be held to begin the construction of a new Guam Museum an endeavor he invited the people of Guam to participate in.
On the Guam Museum Foundation facebook page Palomo wrote:
"As a former administrator of the Guam Museum and a historian by avocation on matters relating to Guam, her sister island of the northern Marianas, and our neighboring island of Micronesia, I invite everyone of goodwill who share our love and commitment to preserve remnants of our past, to join us in this noble endeavor. We want the world to know the historic role that Guam has played during the evolution of this part of the Pacific. Needless to say, Guam today reflects the many changes of yesterday."
Palomo is survived by his numerous children, grandchildren and his wife Margaret.
