Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo was sworn-in this morning - this time on her home turf for her sixth term as Guam's delegate to the United States Congress. The ceremony was hosted by District Court of Guam Chief Judge Frances Tydingco Gatewood at the Latte of Freedom.
Bordallo spoke of the commitment she made on the campaign trail to winning the future for Guam, saying, "My vision for winning the future for Guam is not new - it is a honest and direct commitment to improving the quality of life for this generation and all the ones that will follow. We all understand that times are changing and that what takes place in Washington, DC eventually trickles to the people and the island that I represent. For this reason, I have never wavered in my resolve to make progress on legislation priorities in congress even the most difficult ones."
Bordallo was officially sworn-in earlier this month by speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner for the 113th Congress in Washington, DC.
