First day on the job for Pangelinan at GVB

Guam - With a reported 1.3 million visitors to the island last year, new Guam Visitors Bureau director Karl Pangelinan hopes to use his background in marketing, sales, and product development to keep the momentum. The former Guam Economic Development Authority administrator says he spent his first day on the job meeting with staff and each division of the 30-member agency and will continue the week meeting with GVB committees as well as attend his first board meeting on Thursday.
"GEDA was really sort of selling Guam as an investment destination; now, my role here is to market Guam as a visitor destination," he explained.
It was last week the GVB board selected Pangelinan to take over after former GM Joann Camacho stepped down in December. Governor Eddie Calvo is still evaluating his possibilities as to who will take over leadership at GEDA.
