GFT hopeful to negotiate contract

Guam - With the recent inauguration of new Guam Education Board members, the Guam Federation of Teachers is anxious to get teacher contract negotiations underway. GFT president Tim Fedenko says the union is waiting for the GEB to elect their chair and vice chair before they can return to the table.

The teacher contract may have expired, but the Department of Education continues to honor the spirit of the contract until it can be renegotiated.

The GEB is set to elect officers at their regular meeting set for January 31.
