Guam - It's not just classroom teachers who are learning how to enforce positive student behavior. but bus drivers too. Department of Education superintendent Jon Fernandez says at the request of bus drivers, doe provided training to over 120 drivers over the last few months.

"When there are instances on the busses we don't want them handled too differently from when they are happening at our schools so we're training them on how we approach discipline how we approach incidents how we deescalate behavior and how we work together with the bus drivers and our principals that we are communicating the same messages to our students that they are expected to behave positively to cooperate with others to listen to the bus drivers when they are there," he said.

Fernandez says bus drivers are giving positive feedback on the trainings, which may continue in the summer.
