Guam - Guam resident Aurelio Herrera has received one of the most prestigious awards given by the Navy.  Herrera, a Fire Controlman First Class, was recently recognized for making significant contributions to his community and country and named one of the Navy's 2012 Recruiters of the Year.

The 2001 graduate of JFK High School followed in his father and older brother's footsteps by enlisting in the Navy.  Herrera was recognized for helping recruit the best men and women for the navy and has been working as a recruiter on Guam since 2010. The son of Guam was awarded the Navy's 2012 Diversity Enlisted Recruiter of the Year Award.
