Guam - Agat and Santa Rita residents are urged to attend a public hearing tomorrow night for a renewed permit for a NAVFAC Marianas hazardous waste management storage facility. The permit would allow the facility along Sumay Drive to store reactive and miscellaneous wastes, flammables and combustibles, inorganic acids, organic ads, bases, used oil, oxidizers, toxics, non-hazardous waste and materials.

Guam Environmental Protection Agency spokesperson Tammy Jo Anderson Taft said, "The reason why we issue permits like this because facilities that need to do either repackaging of hazardous waste or handling of hazardous waste they have to do it within the law. Basically the permit includes how does the waste need to be stored how does it need to be handled."

The public hearing will be at the Agat Senior Citizen Center at 6pm.
