Guam - Management at the Port Authority of Guam is scheduled to meet with the Civil Service Commission next week to present its plans on illegal hires at the agency. The CSC was asked by the port board to conduct post audits of seven hires.

The commission found that of the seven hires, four of the individuals failed to meet the minimum qualifications that were required of the jobs they were hired for.

Management was given until this month to develop a plan to resolve the issue, which included terminating the individuals who are now considered classified employees because they exceeded the government's probationary period.

The questionable hires were for accountants and stevedores.

The Commission will meet with port management on Tuesday.
