Guam - Following-up on the possible closure of the University of Guam Planetarium, the decision is ultimately up to UOG president Robert Underwood who told KUAM News it will close at the end of this semester. In the interim, UOG will honor all bookings.

Underwood said, "Is it a prudent use of our resources to do that for certain activities that are not even key to our academic missions, and are not central to our academic mission. We have no academic mission, we have no courses in astronomy, we don't run an observatory, so while this is a very nice activity and it's a very popular activity amongst some people, we think there are probably other ways to do this and we're going to explore those."

The university meanwhile may consider converting the space into additional labs or classrooms.
