JFK AFJROTC earns top rating

The Air Force Junior Rotc unit at John F. Kennedy High School has earned the highest possible rating of “Exceeds Standards” following its official unit assessment on March 4. 

Evaluators praised the Islanders’ strong cadet leadership, high participation, and commitment to community service, noting the program’s clear sense of purpose and pride among its cadets.

The program is led by retired major Josephine Blas, retired senior master sergeant  Victor Rosario, and retired master sergeant Joseph Mafnas, who mentor students in leadership, discipline, and service.

Assessors said cadets demonstrated professionalism and teamwork throughout the evaluation.
