Judiciary closed on Christmas Eve

Following President Barack Obama's decision to close the federal government on Monday, Christmas Eve, the judiciary will be closed.

Guam - Following President Barack Obama's decision to close the federal government on Monday, Christmas Eve, the judiciary will be closed.  Chief Justice F. Philip Carbullido issued an administrative order closing the courts and excusing all judiciary employees from duty with the exception of those assigned to magistrate hearings and ex parte matters.  "I want to sincerely thank the hardworking employees of the judiciary for their commitment to the island. I hope our court employees and patrons will use Monday as a day of reflection and to celebrate this very special time with our families," Carbullido stated.  

All hearings scheduled for Christmas Eve will be rescheduled and any filings due on Monday can be submitted on Wednesday, December 26.  

The remainder of government of Guam employees meanwhile are scheduled to report to work as no holiday has been declared by the Governor.
