Guam - 'Tis the season to be jolly, but for some, the holiday season can bring the blues. A number of new volunteers recently underwent training but Mental Health spokesperson Sara Dimla says past volunteers are welcome to come out again.

It's estimated 30-40 people call and utilize the service each year. "In time where a lot of people are very happy and sharing laughter and love these people who are in their down moments feel even more depressed so the help that we provide through the Department of Mental Health through the crisis hotline is that resource or that lifeline to tell them everything is going to be okay," she told KUAM News.

The Holiday Hotline starts on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m and runs through December 26 at 6 a.m. and again on New Years Eve through January 2. The number to call is 647-8833.
