Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection Agency board is gearing up to meet tomorrow. According to Guam EPA spokesperson Tammy Jo Anderson Taft, the board is set to meet for a regular meeting at 4 p.m. followed by special hearings for the Cyfred and Guam Resource Recovery Partners appeal.

GEPA denied Cyfred's proposed pilot sewer system for the sewerless Gill Baza Subdivision as the board was concerned that the property sits just above the island's northern aquifer where we get more than 80-percent of our drinking water.

As for GRRP, it was earlier this year they were denied a permit for a sanitary landfill in Atantano, Santa Rita because they did not meet all the legal requirements such as a lack of financial assurance, post closure care, and the management of leachate plans.
