Guam - Port oversight chair Senator Tom Ada confirms he learned of the terminations and has spoken to at least one of the individuals who was fired from the Port Authority of Guam. The Democrat lawmaker says because some of those who were terminated are relatively senior in the agency, he hopes that there is adequate succession planning so there won't be too much impact to the organization.

"But I'm afraid we probably haven't heard the last of this even if terminations were in fact given out. I understand that a number of the employees have retained legal counsel and will be pursuing this manner and rightfully so because they have to fight for their livelihood and because how this whole situation is being covered in the media, their ability to gain employment is subsequently makes it that much harder because of all the publicity it has received," he said.

Ada confirms he spoke with Vivian Leon, who is his second cousin regarding the adverse action. Leon has obtained legal counsel to help put her case together but Ada says because it is a personnel matter, he has kept arm's length away.
