Guam - Mary Torres is no longer the General Manager of the Port Authority of Guam. Torres met with the Port Board of Directors this afternoon in Executive Session to discuss the situation at the Port and her position. After she emerged from the meeting, the Board motioned to approve acting GM Joanne Brown as the permanent General Manager. Torres showed up to today's meeting with her attorney Patrick Civille. Her brother former Governor Felix Camacho and his former Chief of Staff George Bamba were also at today's board meeting.  Port Board Chair Dan Tydingco would not confirm whether Torres resigned or was terminated. On Tuesday, six port employees were terminated from the agency in the midst of an active investigation into discrepancies involving leave and workman's compensation. Another investigation is underway into hiring practices at the agency.   Last Week Attorney Civille in a statement on behalf of Torres said she was far from being disappointed and hurt by the situation at the Port but was furious over the situation and having her name dragged through the mud by what's really "unsubstantiated rumors". Civille said Torres has had an excellent work ethic and track record with the board and a valuable, working relationship with various interest groups resulting in getting projects going at the Port..
