"Nene Bags" donated to hospital
Guam - The gifts keep on coming at the Guam Memorial Hospital, as the Guam Early Learning Council launched Project Nene Bags this morning, donating 250 Nene Bags for newborns and their moms who deliver at GMH. Co-chair and Project Tinituhon director Elaine Eclavea says with the holiday season what better gift to give then knowledge in ensuring all our island's children have access to good quality healthcare and education.
Eclavea said, "When babies are born, we can really track what's really going to become of them if we start early. And if we look at different ways at how we can start supporting families on knowing what to do to better stimulate there child's development."
The Nene Bags include early childhood informational pamphlets, a Nene Directory and other helpful items for both mother and child to use. She adds there are plans to expand the project at Sagua Managu and Naval Hospital.
