Guam - The Christmas spirit was in full effect this weekend as dozens of people came out for the Big Wrap event for the Sugar Plum Tree. The Bank of Hawaii lobby in Hagatna was transformed into a massive Christmas wrapping station.
Sugar Plum Tree executive director Kathy Kernaghan says the morning began with close to 900 unwrapped toys piled 5' feet high and stretching 15' and within a few hours, each was decorated and ready to be placed under the Christmas tree. "Military is here," she said, "We have kids from St. Anthony's, St. Johns, Academy, Notre Dame, the sisters from St, Dominic's are here and many other religious organizations, other schools and Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts - everybody comes out to help. There are families that have come out year after year."
The Sugar Plum Tree has been giving gifts to the needy and less fortunate for more than two decades.
