Guam - The Attorney General of Guam is nearly completed with its investigation involving a report of an alleged irate parent who went to Untalan Middle School back in October. Faculty alleged the parent, Customs Major Phil Taijeron, showed up to the Tiyan campus after receiving a call from his daughter that she had been bullied.
The parent has since apologized for his actions, but school staff to this day question why nothing has been done after reporting to airport police that Taijeron allegedly stormed into the school office cursing and making threatening remarks.
Airport Police Chief Bob Camacho explains why Airport Police handed over six witness statements along with a referral for possible indictment to the AG's Office, instead of making an arrest following staff complaints. "If the officer feels unsure of himself because there might be some gray areas; he's more than welcome to call the AG's Office," he said. "I wanted to mention that a couple months ago when this incident occur is that we did contact the AG's Office and we did provide assistance that if feel that this is something they can see the elements of the crime did fit what the reports indicated then we will pursue the arrest."
Camacho admits that's more a department practice rather than policy. AG's spokesperson Carlina Charfauros says once the investigation is done, the report will be placed under attorney review.
Of note is that a similar incident occurred at Simon Sanchez High School a couple weeks back, in which a woman was arrested the following day and charged with terrorizing.
