Guam - The U.S. Attorney's Office collected $1.7 million in criminal and civil actions in the last fiscal year. U.S. Attorney Alicia Limitaco says $279,000 was collected in criminal actions and $1.4 million was collected in civil actions. The office was also able to collect an additional $316,000 in asset forfeitures. Limtiaco says the collections are more important than ever and the U.S. Attorney's Office is dedicated to protecting the public and recovering funds for the federal treasury and for victims of federal crime.
She adds that they will continue to hold accountable those who seek to profit from their illegal activities.
