Guam - The Home of the Eagles soars for one of their own as they gave a heartfelt sendoff to one of their classmate, Jaython De Jesus. Showing their solidarity, students and faculty at J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School this morning raised the voices in support of their fellow classmate and student, 8-year-old Jaython De Jesus.

"We love you, Jaython!" they cheered.

A send-off ceremony was held for the 2nd grader, who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is set to leave this weekend for medical treatment. Helping Jaython and his family is the Edward M Calvo Cancer Foundation. Through its partnership with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, the EMC Foundation is covering the airfare for Jaython and his father to travel to City of Hope Hospital in California.

Also contributing is Guam Cancer Care. He is their youngest patient to ever ask for help. The non-profit is providing Jaython and his family with patient navigation services and direct financial assistance. Guam Cancer Care executive director Terry Cuabo said, "We're going to do everything in our power to get you what you need for your treatment. Anything we can do to assist you, we will be there."

Also there for him this morning was DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez. He said, "I want you to remember this day of celebration that you are we're behind you to help you through this we wish you the best of luck."

And to give him a little comfort for the plane ride faculty and staff presented Jaython with several gifts such as books, snacks, a Nintendo 3Ds and $100 pocketmoney. School staff said, "We admire and respect the courage that you have shown so far we wish you and your family who are also here to support you.

"Stay strong and remember you will always be in our thoughts in prayers and hearts."
