Calvo orders release of $5.4M to pay 1,679 tax refunds

If you filed for your tax refunds by December 6, 2012 without any error, you should be getting it in the mail over the next week.

"We saved up some cash again and, like we promised, we're making tax refunds the top priority," Governor Calvo said. "I hope this brings an even better Christmas for our people."

Governor Calvo has ordered the Department of Administration to release approximately $5.4 million to the Department of Revenue and Taxation to pay tax refunds. DRT officials will be working tonight to print the checks. Officials estimate 1,679 checks will be printed.

The checks are then expected to be delivered to DOA tomorrow morning to be stuffed and mailed.

"We'll work quickly on stuffing the checks in the envelopes, and hopefully we'll get the checks to the post office by Friday afternoon," Director of Administration Benita Manglona said.
